Residential Real Estate Team Adds Customer Care & Buyers Specialists
(Oklahoma City, OK): The quickly-growing Oklahoma City real estate group, Buckelew Realty Group (formerly OKC Mature Moves) with Keller Williams Realty Platinum, has expanded its team, adding two full-time specialists in an effort to better serve the rapidly growing number of retirees, caregivers, and aging services professionals seeking their comprehensive services. Serving to provide a solution to the sometimes complex and unique challenges facing adults 55+, senior citizens, and the adult children and family caregivers of older seniors, the new team members are essential in providing seamless and essential services.
“Having developed a similar team structure previously –– back in the early 2000’s –– we started the talent search process several months back in anticipation of the need for more support as the number of seniors we represented increased. So many real estate agents try to be all things to all people and when you are dealing with complex emotional and physical issues related to late-life moves, you need special and highly competent people on board. Each move and each sale is unique and a one-size-fits-all approach just doesn’t work,” remarks Nikki Buckelew.
The newly-created position of Client Care Manager has been filled by Shaunda Sims, a native Oklahoman with a masters degree in gerontology from the University of Central Oklahoma. Her career includes more than 12 years of experience working with seniors and their families as an employee of assisted living communities and in-home care service providers in the area. As a full-service real estate team, Sims’ role as the Senior Move Manager of the group’s Mature Moves Division is to coordinate all aspects of a clients’ late-in-life transition from family homes to more-manageable living situations including sorting, organizing, packing, moving, and estate liquidation.
“Shaunda originally came to work for us right out of college and it was clear she was exceptional then. Now, with nearly 15 years of experience serving seniors, she holds the key position on the team insuring that the clients we serve are not overwhelmed with the details involved in their move. It’s easy to help people with the physical move, but Shaunda has both the ability and the desire to also help lessen the emotional stress that comes with moves such as these,” says Buckelew.
Buckelew Realty Group has also added a dedicated Sales Manager to their team, naming Carol McKenny to that position. Carol is a recognized expert in finding maintenance-free living options and properties ideal for downsizing seniors. A resident of Northwest Oklahoma City and Edmond for more than three decades, McKenny’s career in real estate sales spans eight years with previous experience in the oil field and nursing industries.
This is what Chris Buckelew said when asked about their new hire: “We were elated when Carol chose to join our team. Not only is she amazing in her ability to connect with people and be real with them, she is highly competent in real estate sales and transaction management. Our senior clients love her, but so does everyone! It isn’t every day that you find an agent who loves their job as much as Carol does – it’s like she lights up when she is helping people find that perfect place to live. Whether it is a retired couple looking for maintenance-free living or a young couple investing in their first home, Carol is up for the task. What we really appreciate about Carol is that she sees the opportunity to sell a home as being about the people and not just about a commission.”
Founded by the husband and wife duo, Nikki and Chris Buckelew, known for their experience, expertise, and knowledge in the 55+ market, Buckelew Realty Group is a full-service real estate team with it’s Mature Moves Division focusing on a mission to educate, equip, and empower mature homeowners, buyers, sellers, and those tasked with eldercare responsibilities to successfully navigate the complexities of late-life moves and estate liquidations.
